About Varde
The numbers didn’talways make senseto us either.
Varde, said VAR-deh, is Norwegian for a cairn. This is the practice built by someone who needed one.

The start
Nineteen, and inover his head
Abel started in accounting at nineteen, as an apprentice. On his first day as a bookkeeper he had never seen a bank statement. Not once. What followed was years of working during the day and studying at night... copying the work of better bookkeepers, filling in the gaps with YouTube videos, library books, tutorials, and stubbornness.
“For years it felt like putting a puzzle together without knowing what the box looked like. I know exactly what it feels like to stare at your own numbers and not know what they mean. That feeling is why Varde exists.”
Today
The box top,finally
Today Abel is an Enrolled Agent, federally licensed to represent clients before the IRS, and finishing a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Varde is built on one conviction: you should not need an accounting degree to understand your own business. The work is tax, bookkeeping, planning, and advisory. The mission is bigger... value in the service, value in the teaching, value in every interaction. When you understand your numbers well enough to navigate by them, the job was done right.

Personal
Off the clock
Lifting, snowboarding, cycling, and wildlife photography when the Colorado weather cooperates. A coffee shop and a good book when it doesn’t. Favorite movie: Pride and Prejudice, with The Lord of the Rings close behind... eclectic is fine. Abel’s faith is at the center of his life, and he is the oldest of ten kids, which explains both the patience and the teaching instinct.
